about me
My name is Allison Voigt and I've recently graduated from North Dakota State University. I'm a double major in Interior Design and International Studies. I've completed an internship with a firm called Evoke Projects in Sydney, Australia. During this time, I improved my skills in SketchUp and AutoCad as well as learned basic skills in Photoshop, InDesign, and ArchiCad. For the last year, I've been working part-time as a Home Accents Specialist at Scheels Home and Hardware while finishing up my degrees. I learn a lot about decor, current trends, furniture manufacturing, and great customer service from working here.
Personally, I enjoy traveling and loved the experience I had abroad. I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. I am part of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, and that has helped me develop a vast amount of interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.

Work Experience
Evoke Projects
The summer of 2018, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Australia and intern with a company called Evoke Projects. I was given the chances to do numerous tasks and activities with the team that was based out of Sydney, Australia. Some of these included touring show rooms, attending meetings with suppliers and clients, organizing the materials library, creating furniture and materials templates for them in ArchiCad, and so much more. It was an amazing opportunity to grow as an individual as well as learn more about the profession and what I'll be doing after I graduate college.
Scheels Home & Hardware
The summer after my Junior year, I did my required internship at Scheels Home and Hardware as a Home Accents Specialist. This is where I'm still working part-time I am expected to lnow about the vendors we carry as well as their different fabrics, finishes, and warranties. I'm also responsible for quoting prices, writing bid sheets, and working with customers to design and find furniture they love. Every once and a while, I have to help with the layout of the furniture in the space as well. I also have the opportunity to work with the designers that work there. With them, I have previously been able to go on calls to help furnish clients' homes and learn about how to measure for Hunter Douglas custom blinds. This wasn't a typical internship, but I learned a lot about the financial side of design as well as how much of an impact designers have on clients and their ability to make a house feel like home.
